Zesty Crosses the Bridge

Zesty is officially serving the East Bay!

We are excited to announce that Zesty is officially serving the East Bay! This is our fourth market in the Bay Area, adding to the meal programs we offer in San Francisco, the Peninsula, and San Jose. Oakland is home to some of the nation’s best restaurants. Numerous high-profile chefs have created a vibrant and diverse food scene with restaurants that top “best of” lists nationwide. We could not be more thrilled to be serving the mecca of delicious, gastronomic delights in the East Bay to a broader clientele.

A couple of our top new restaurant partners include Philomena - dishing up gourmet handmade pizzas, and Los Cilantros - serving up a tostada bar with barbacoa de res, chicken tinga, and nopales (Mexican cacti).

Gluten Free Garlic Garden Pizza from Philomena!

Philomena is a family friendly restaurant located in East Oakland that specializes in crispy thin-crust pizzas made with fresh, local ingredients. Try the delicious California pork belly, blue cheese, and arugula pizza, or order the spinach and ricotta garlic knots for happy hour. The chefs worked with our team of in-house dietitians to create a variety of delectable dishes that can satisfy any craving. Philomena is a new addition to the restaurant family that is known and loved for their original restaurant, Portal, one of Lake Merritt’s hottest brunch spots. Portal will also be available through Zesty, serving up their famous sliders.

DIY Tostada Bar from Los Cilantros!

Chef/owner Dilsa Lugo at Los Cilantros brings her vast experience in restaurants and farming to offer a selection of home-style Mexican dishes made from scratch, that highlight family recipes and locally-sourced ingredients. Dilsa, of Los Cilantros, is a graduate of San Francisco's La Cocina program; a food entrepreneur incubator located in the Mission District. Other rockstar Zesty partners like Alicia's Los Mayas also got their start with La Cocina.

Los Cilantros combines the simple interpretation of traditional dishes that highlight the richness of Bay Area ingredients with the wide array of regional specialties found in Mexico. The barbacoa de res is slow cooked with simple, fresh ingredients including beef chuck, garlic, and avocado leaf.

Whether you’re looking for a light and fresh Californian meal, a warming bowl of flavorful ramen, or a spicy Indian dish - we’ve got you covered with a wide array of options in the East Bay. Zesty always focuses on serving high quality menus to satisfy a variety of taste buds and dietary restrictions. Restaurant partners such as Philomena and Los Cilantros have worked closely with our team to create flavorful menus that highlight clean, local ingredients to enhance your meal program.
